Aims & Objectives

Aims

i. To salvage and promote the dying indigenous art and crafts of the traditional

 Ghanaian heritage.

ii. To train students to acquire professional skills in designing, production and Marketing of Ghanaian artistic products that combine practical function with Contemporary aesthetics, by the use of local raw materials;

iii. To equip students with professional entrepreneurial skills.

 

Objectives

 By the end of the undergraduate programme, the student should be able to:

i. Recognize local raw material for art in the Ghanaian environment;

ii. Process local raw material for the execution of work of art.

iii. Design and produce functional and aesthetic artistic products with professional

 Competence.

iv. Market artistic products.

v. Initiate, supervise or manage a medium to large-scale art and craft industry.

vi. Teach art to students up to the SSSCE level.
